Özata Shipyard has signed a new contract with Maritime Montering for the outfitting of a next-generation electric ferry, designed by The Norwegian Ship Design Company for the Norwegian operator Torghatten Nord.
This order marks Özata Shipyard’s next collaboration with Maritime Montering, covering the turnkey interior and accommodation scope for the electric ferry. Under the contract, Maritime Montering will be responsible for turn-key outfitting all onboard areas, including accommodation and public spaces for 202 passengers including 7 crew members.
The project represents the third sister vessel in the Torghatten series entrusted by Özata Shipyard to the Maritime Montering team in Yalova, Türkiye. The first vessel from the series will be delivered in 2026.
The newbuilding project, NB 104, is a 76.85-metre double-ended electric ferry with capacity for 202 passengers and 60 cars, developed for operations along the Norwegian coast.
“We are truly proud to take responsibility for the third ferry in this series and to continue contribute our expertise in delivering high levels of onboard comfort for both crew and passengers,” says Zafer Şanlı, Sales Manager at Maritime Montering Turkey.
The delivery is planned for August 2027.
