Maritime Montering Wins Two-Ferry Interior Contract from Özata Shipyard

Özata Shipyard will construct two advanced electric ferries for Norwegian operator Torghatten Nord, with Maritime Montering entrusted to deliver the complete turnkey interior and accommodation.

According to the contract, Maritime Montering will be responsible for outfitting all areas of the ferries, including spaces for 7 crew and 195 passengers onboard. Known for its high-quality accommodation standards, Maritime Montering has successfully delivered interiors for over 80 ferry vessels worldwide.

The newbuild ferries will feature Norwegian-quality comfort, expertly outfitted by Maritime Montering’s local subsidiary in Turkey, which is strategically located near regional shipyards.

The ferries, designed by The Norwegian Ship Design Company, will be 76.85 meters long and will have the capacity to carry 195 passengers, 60 vehicles, and 7 crew members. These zero-emission ferries are set to operate on the Festvåg–Misten route, connecting the road between Bodø and Kjerringøy.

Delivery is expected in 2026.

Maritime Montering Completes Interior Outfitting of OPV 2600 for Pakistan Navy 

Maritime Montering proudly announces the successful completion of the interior and accommodation outfitting for the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) 2600, built by Damen Shipyards and commissioned for the Pakistan Navy.

Over the years, Maritime Montering has delivered high-quality interiors for more than 80 naval vessels worldwide, and this project is a testament to Group’s continued commitment to excellence in naval outfitting.

The OPV 2600, equipped with cutting-edge technology and systems, is designed by Damen Shipyards to enhance the Pakistan Navy’s maritime security and operational capacity around the globe. The vessel’s interior and accommodation outfitting were entrusted entirely to Maritime Montering, and it’s team in Romania completed the work on schedule at Damen Shipyards in Galați. This included accommodation, insulation, metal sheeting, pipe insulation, and exhaust system insulation, ensuring the highest standards in both technical and living spaces.

The OPV 2600 will be vital for variety of naval warfare roles including maritime patrol, search and rescue operations, and safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime interests. The ship’s raising of the Pakistani flag took place in July 2024.

Maritime Montering has been selected by Cemre Shipyard to deliver the complete interior outfitting and accommodation for two Service Operation Vessels (SOVs). The new building vessels will be fully outfitted by Maritime Montering through its Turkish subsidiary, marking another significant milestone in the companies’ long-standing partnership.

Designed by Norwegian firm HAV Design in collaboration with ESVAGT, the vessels will operate under the Danish flag. Known for their advanced technology and environmentally friendly design, the vessels (NB1097 and NB1102) are part of the growing trend towards ‘green shipping’ and will be equipped to minimize their environmental footprint during operations.

Maritime Montering’s outfitting scope includes the complete accommodation package for both vessels, providing high standards of comfort for crew and technicians, with space for 124 people on the larger vessel and 54 on the other one. The accommodation will feature individual cabins, administrative spaces, as well as areas for leisure and well-being. Maritime Montering Turkey will ensure these state-of-the-art facilities are designed to ensure the crew’s comfort and well-being while at sea.

Maritime Montering Signs New Contract for Quantus Trawler Accommodation Package

Maritime Montering has secured a new contract with Westcon Yard AS to deliver a complete accommodation package for the 75-meter Quantus Trawler, commissioned by MV Quantus Ltd and Peter & J. Johnstone Ltd. As Westcon Yard focus on building the vessel to provide a safe and efficient work platform, Maritime Montering will ensure that the 16-member crew enjoys a comfortable and functional living and working environment at sea.

The project will see Maritime Montering provide up-to-date accommodation solutions, including outfitting living quarters, technical areas, and a hospital, as well as installing linings, ceilings, insulation, and HVAC. The outfitting will be carried out by Maritime Montering Norway, which has extensive experience operating across Westcon’s various Norwegian yards.

This latest order brings the number of Salt Ship-designed pelagic fishing vessels outfitted by Maritime Montering for Westcon Yard to two, following last year’s commission for the Norwegian vessel Trønderbas.

“This is the second trawler in recent times at Westcon that we’re outfitting, as Trønderbas is already in progress at their Ølensvåg yard,” said Stian Madsen, CEO of Maritime Montering Norway. “We are proud of our long-standing partnership with Westcon, which spans close to 30 years and includes numerous refit projects and around 20 newbuilds. This new contract further strengthens the trust-based relationship we’ve cultivated over the years.”

The owners behinds MV Quantus Ltd and Peter & J. Johnstone Ltd  state that they are excited to have Maritime Montering working on a new vessel as they have been very impressed by MM’s previous work over many Scottish pelagic vessels.

Yalova, Turkey

Maritime Montering has been awarded a new contract by Tersan Shipyard to provide turnkey accommodation solutions for a Factory Freezer Trawler. The vessel, which will be built for Aurora Fisheries, a subsidiary of New Zealand-based Solander Group, will mark Tersan’s first delivery to New Zealand.

The trawler will feature Norwegian-quality comfort, expertly outfitted by Maritime Montering through its local subsidiary in Turkey, strategically located close to shipyards in Yalova. Maritime Montering Turkey will oversee the entire interior outfitting process, including design, furniture production, assembly, and installation. The turnkey project will ensure high-quality living spaces for 50 crew members, enhancing both comfort and efficiency for operations in New Zealand waters.

The 80-meter trawler, designed by Norway’s Skipsteknisk, is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The Damen Shipyards Gorinchem has contracted Maritime Montering for the interior, outfitting, insulation within accommodation and technical spaces of Multi-Purpose Vessel newbuilt for Portuguese Navy.

This contract is the outcome of a highly competitive tender announced by Damen, resulting in the nomination of Maritime Montering Romania, the subsidiary of the Maritime Montering Group in Galati.

Under the contract, Maritime Montering will be responsible for the complete interior, outfitting, accommodation and insulation within technical, working and living spaces of newly constructed Multi-Purpose Vessel. The scope of work includes advanced solutions tailored to enhance the functionality, safety, and comfort of the vessel, ensuring it meets the high standards expected in modern maritime operations.

We have outfitted over eighty    Damen-built vessels to date, and with each new tender, we striving to propose best-in-class accommodation solutions able to complement Damen’s innovative ship designs.”

The Multi-Purpose Vessel was developed by Damen based on a concept created by the  Portuguese Navy. The vessel is  107-metre long multi-purpose platform, with primary mission roles including oceanic research, search and rescue, and emergency relief in addition to maritime safety and naval support operations. The accommodation capacity is for 48 crews, 42 scientists and 100 persons.

The collaboration between Damen and Maritime Montering ensures that the vessel will be outfitted with the highest quality accommodation materials, providing an exceptional working and living environment for its crew during the vessel’s mission activities in the deepest areas of the ocean.
